Before Camp

Preregistration

Why to preregister:

  1. Assure your place at camp. Mataguay Scout Ranch is capping the number of campers per session in an effort to ensure you the best camping opportunity. We cannot guarantee availability for last minute registration.
  2. Receive a free camp T-shirt for each camper preregistered. T-shirts will be distributed on the first day of camp.
  3. Planning and Promotion within your troop. The earlier that you have scheduled your camp, the more excited your Scouts will be. They are more likely to attend camp and to participate in troop fundraisers.
  4. Secure your campsite. You will be able to select your campsite in advance. Campsites are designated to fit troops of a particular size. Once you reserve your site, it is yours as long as you maintain the payment schedule.

Adding Scouts

Every troop makes predictions about how many Scouts will be attending summer camp. This, of course includes boys who were newly promoted from Webelos, transfers and the existing troop members. While troops can make estimates based on past history, surprises happen. To help your troop smooth out those bumps Mataguay Scout Ranch will allow a one-time 10% or 2 Scout adjustment (whichever is greater) in the number of spots that you reserve without penalty. This change must be made before March 31st.

The camp team will do their best to accommodate additional Scouts, but will have a strict adherence to the camp's limitations to ensure the quality camping experience.

Campsite Selection

Mataguay Scout Ranch is laid out in a series of patrol sites with a nearby leader's tent area which forms a Troop site. Camp staff will contact you shortly before camp regarding your campsite assignment.

Class Registration

Merit Badge registration is conducted online. All of the classes are opened to all of the troops at the same time. If a course is full, please register the Scout who wishes to attend in an alternative course. Then send an email to the Camping Department and let us know. In certain cases we have the ability to adjust resources and accommodate additional Scouts in a class or we can add a session.
